I was tagged by a new blog friend Octamom. The tag is to list 7 of your quirks so here goes!#1- I love even numbers. I am OCD about even numbers matter of fact. Everything has to be even. It drives me crazy when I look at April and May's blog history and see odd numbers--UGH!! Matter of fact I will be making this tag in to 8 quirks instead of 7!
#2- I hate for my food to touch on my plate. I have been this way since I was a child. NOTHING can touch--EVER!!
#3- I can only eat one thing at a time until it is completely gone before I start on something else. For example: If I have chicken, rice and green beans on my plate I will eat all of the green beans first, then I will eat all of the rice and then I will eat all of the chicken.
#4- I smell everything. If I touch something (and basically that means anything) I have to smell my fingers. If I am cooking I am continually smelling the dish or dishes the entire time they are cooking. I am always smelling my kids hair, and their feet (to make sure they don't stink). Weird I know!!
#5- I like to use "air pen". You know like air guitar--but it is a pen. I will watch TV and with my air pen I will write words that stand out to me on the arm of the chair or couch.
#6- When I take a shower I have a routine that I HAVE to follow every time. First I shave my legs. Second I get my body and hair wet. Third I wash my hair and put in conditioner. Fourth I wash my body and shave my armpits. Fifth I rinse off my body and then my hair. I get out and wrap my hair in a towel, then I dry off, then I clean my ears with Q-tips and then I put on deodorant, then I put on my garments and bra. Now it's time to blow dry my hair and then style it. Finally I get dressed. It has to be done this way or else I freak out!!
#7- When I sit down to read a book I will zone everything else out and read the entire book in a few hours or in 1 day. It bugs me if it takes more than one day to read a book--just ask Tina!!
#8- I HATE it when my kids get dirty. If they get something on their clothes or face I am instantly wiping them down with wet wipes. I get annoyed when they come in from outside and are dirty or messed up. I get annoyed when Hannah has messy hair or when Olivia rips the barrette or ponytail out of her hair. I get annoyed when Zachary gets out of the shower and he hasn't pushed his hair down so it has dried sticking up. I need to chill out!! I always want my kids looking and smelling good and presentable at all times.

My aunts and cousins can't have their food touch AT ALL. It's so weird to me. I mush everything together.
Really? You REALLY mush everything together? I am gagging just thinking about it!!
This should be fun! I'll get to it as soon as I assign a very long assignment to my home schooled son....Heck, I'll just let him watch a movie!
Your meat can't even touch your potatoes? When I was a kid and we'd have pot roast I would put mashed potatoes right in the middle of my plate then put some carrots on top then some corn on top of that then some shreded beef then gravy all over, then I'd mix it all up. Perfect!

You wouldn't last a minute with my kids. My daughter likes to walk around with food on her face and she refuses to wash her hair. Ew. My boys, their favorite thing in the whole wide world is playing in my dirtpile for my garden. They need to be hosed off before they come in the house. Their motto is, "It's not fun unless you get dirty."
Well, I don't mush EVERYTHING together, but Mary's example is a good one. Or I'll eat my pork chops with applesauce, etc. Delicious!
I don't even eat gravy--if I did it would run all over my plate and touch everything--YUCK!!

I let them get dirty it just drives me crazy! My hubby always tells me to chill out all of the time--I am learning and growing--one dirty face and one messy head of hair at a time!
Yeah, you are crazy. LOL!! I eat my food like that too, I don't like it if they touch, but I don't freak if they do!!! I eat one food at a time, the waiter will come up and say, you haven't touched your steak is it ok? I am like ummm yeah I am eating my corn first, duh!!
You do realize that once everything is in your stomach it's all mushed up together right?
My husband eats pretty much like you and he doesn't like things to touch either but he deals.
I love to read like that too but find it hard to find the time.

I know it touches in my stomach--everyone tells me that everytime they hear my weirdness. I am fine with it touching in my stomach because I can't see it in there--on the plate I can see it--YUCK!!
The only reason I get to read sometimes is because my hubby works 14 hour shifts so one week he has 4 days off and the next week he has 3 days off--so I just make him take care of everything!

I'm with you on the kids being clean thing too. People give me a hard time about how I can't stand it either if things don't match on her perfectly either.

Everyone knows that odd numbers are the best. Duh! 7 being the supreme king. Why would you go and add even 1 to it? You think 7 causes you a panic attack. Well, guess what you've just done to me by making it 8. I'm going to pretend that one of the things on you list doesn't exist so that I can calm down.

Jillene, did you ever think about the fact that it took and odd number (1) to make 7 into 8...does that freak you out and make you want to add 2 to 7, but wait, that would make 9...even more un-balancy!

My kids clothes have to match too. If they come up to me ready for school and don't match I march them back into their rooms to find matching clothes.

I know the smelling the fingers thing is really strange but if my hands stink it freaks me out.
hahaha, so funny Jillene. I'm like Mary and Kristina, I like to eat my stuff together. I ALWAYS eat my potatoes with whatever is on the plate.. vegetables, or meat. And usually I eat all three together. The best tasting thing is corn and mashed potatoes together.. MMmmm....
When I read I zone out, too. But I will usually take longer than a day.

You know, I have to say that I'm a little uncomfortable with all this segregation talk. Do I need to take a stand and become the Rosa Park of culinary delights?

I am a segregater!! I can't help it--I have always been that way. It really makes me physically ill to even thing that my food will touch. Take dinner tonight--we had Ranch Chicken, Rice Pilaf and Fresh Peaches. I put the chicken and rice on my plate but not the peaches--the juice would get into my other stuff. I ate peaches after the chicken and rice was gone and my plate was properly wiped off.

*claps hands* Hey I do the shower routine too, and I hate odd numbers they drive me nuts...well I personally am OCD, but it makes SENSE to have a system!
The smelling thing is definitely quirky and I love scents...but ones that smell...good!! Or invoke memories! The best scents - baby powder, oranges, suntan lotion and coffee (and I have never had it)!
