Lions and Tigers and BEARS, Oh My!!

Last night Zachary received his Bear Award for Cub Scouts. He turned 9 in April so it only took him 4 months to complete. I am really proud of how dedicated he his to doing Scouts. He loves the program and all that it offers. I am happy that he is enthusiastic about it because that in turn reminds me to work on it with him. We will now get to start working on his Webelow and Arrow of Light. My goal is for him to be an Eagle Scout by the time he is 13. I want to get it done and over before he is in High School, gets interested in girls and starts to date, starts driving, and has tons of homework. I can't believe that I am talking about him dating and driving when he is only 9. But I am sure that if I stop to blink my eye, he will be 16. Time goes by too quickly!!

That's awesome! I don't know if Adam ever got his Eagle Scout. I know smany girls who refused to date someone without it. I think it's a great program and very admirable, but I think that's taking things a little too far.

Kristina-
My husband isn't an Eagle Scout and he didn't serve a mission either. Matter of fact when I met him he was TOTALLY inactive. He started coming to church with me but had a hard time with paying tithing. When we got married we had to do it civilly first and then we were sealed a year later. HE IS THE BEST HUSBAND AND FATHER!! I am glad that I didn't listen to my Bishop or his wife and married him anyway--it was the best thing I ever did! (0:

Girls need to realize that life isn't perfect and if he's not an Eagle Scout he can still be a GREAT guy!

I agree!!

That's so great you are so motivated to get it done. hahaha. You don't procrastinate? Because I'm HORRIBLE at it. Wait.. I mean I do it, and I'm actually really good at procrastinating but it's a horrible thing to do.... Did that even make sense?

I think being an Eagle Scout is great. I don't judge if someone doesn't have it. I just don't like to judge. I know what some people have assumed about me and I would hate for others to go through that. But, anyway, back to the Eagle. My 3 brothers, dad and husband all have theirs. I didn't know Jaren had his till this last Sunday... haha.

Whitney-
Believe me--I am a HUGE procrastinator! I am only motivated by my son's eagerness. I honestly wouldn't force him to do this--It really is something that he wants for himself. I am a very proud mom of a VERY sweet and amazing boy!! I feel so lucky!!

Jillene- I am old too, and certain parts are more fluffy than others. I love having friends in the online world!

This actually really impresses me. I encourage my boys to go to Scouts, but we are very relaxed about it. Neither myself or my husband were in scouting families (but we are still good people, I promise!!!!) and so we haven't pushed too hard. Some days my boys beg me to stay home and just relax... I usually give in, becasue that is excatly what I want to do. You are motivating him and setting a good example. *insert pat on your back here*
good job ;-)
