This Is Why You Shouldn't Talk About Vampires

The girls and I went to lunch with my mom and dad and my niece Brooklyn today. We left my mom's around 1:50 so that we could get home in time to pick Zachary up from school. We got to the school and I parked right in front of my friend Tina. Olivia had fallen asleep so I rolled the windows down and walked 2 steps away from my car to give Tina my book order. When I got back to the car I heard Olivia softly crying so I assumed that she had woken up. I looked into the back window and she was COVERED and I mean COVERED in blood! Her entire face, both hands, her arms, legs, shirt and shorts were covered!

*Warning--pictures of the shirt and shorts below. Just so you know. I didn't take pictures of her face, etc. because #1- I didn't have a camera and #2- I WAS FREAKING OUT!!

My friend Tina and her hubby Darryl got out of their car to see what was wrong. I was wiping her down with wet wipes as fast as I could but it was drying faster than I could wipe. Well--it is her nose that is bleeding and bleeding and bleeding and bleeding. I can't get it to stop. My son is like the VERY last kid out of the school today--not helping the situation. I got her home and straight into the bathtub. Her nose was still bleeding but not as bad. It took a good 2 hours for it to completely stop--it wasn't running but blood was still coming out.

I feel like the most horrible, awful, terrible, rotten mother on the planet! I was only 2 feet away but I couldn't hear her (I am still traumatized)!! I know that it was only a bloody nose and she is just fine now but if you could have seen her--Tina, this is when you leave a comment letting everyone know that I am not exaggerating or making this up.

To top it all off, I get her all taken care of and then I look at my blog and I have an anonymous commenter stirring up crap on my blog. I am NOT having a good afternoon/evening!! Oh well--I guess I have learned my lesson! I will NEVER talk about or mock vampires again (see 2 posts down)!!

Yikes! I'm glad it was just a nose bleed.

And don't stress too much about the commenter. We all love you and know that they are ridiculous. Clearly, they shouldn't be involved in the public eye if they can't take someone saying that a show for CHILDREN annoys an adult.

Wow, what a bleed. I hate looking at a kid and just seeing blood. it's one of those things that makes your heart leap into your throat.

Kristina-
I am not stressed about it--I am just mad! I don't think whoever it was ever came back so I feel like what I had to say to them will go un-noticed. I am also mad that they chose to pick a fight with Mary--who does that kind of crap? I am also mad that they are SO closed-minded! I just need some ice cream or a chocolate I.V. I get this way when it gets to be "that" time of the month!

I'm glad it finally stopped! I would have freaked out too!!

wow Jillene you're like the older sister I've always wanted (I hope my real older sister doesn't read this)

When I was reading this post I was thinking you were going to say your daughter was covered in gum or another sticky substance kids get covered in, the word blood had me so worried. Glad things have calmed down.

I think picking the "anonymous" choice when commenting must automatically cause your IQ to drop 50 points.

Nose bleeds can look so scary, I'm glad everyone is ok.

Holly-
I think that my heart actually stopped!!

Bobie-
Uuuummmm....I am SO glad it FINALLY stopped!

Mary-
Then you can be the sister I have never had! (0: I ALWAYS wanted one but I got a younger brother instead and then my dad went and got snipped. )0:

I am glad that things have calmed down too..I hooked myself up to a chocolate I.V. so I am ALL good!

Wow, I left a comment on the post below about it all. But wow! And Jillene, I really do think they came back and read it. But they hopefully felt really dumb about overreacting and didn't want to comment and keep the fight going. I don't think you went unnoticed. I also hope they come to this post and read Kristina's comment.

I'm sorry you had a traumatic nose bleeding EVERYWHERE experience! Jaren get's bad nosebleeds, but will you believe... I've never had one? Ever. Oh wait, when I cracked my nose when I was 6. I think your awesome and don't let any one who doesn't have the ca hone's to say something negative as themselves.

I forgot to mention that Hannah was with me this entire time and when she saw Olivia--she freaked out too. She was trying to be brave but it wasn't working. So I guess I was not traumatized alone!

Is it weird to say that I kind of like seeing blood? It just adds that little bit of excitement and keeps you on your toes.

I always wipe up/ sponge off/ hold pressure to bloody messes when they happen.

It sounds like you did very good.

where is Anonymous today? I am so surprised he-she is not offended that you are HUMAN but don't like seeing blood.

Too bad it wasn't that time of the month when you would of had a tampon handy! They are miracles for nose bleeds, my hubby gets them all the time, so we by tampax for me AND HIM! Absorbent little suckers

nose bleeds are so scary...the first time emily had a nose bleed i called this emergency nurse hotline....i was FREAKING out big time. she was so little...she just recently had 2 more nose bleeds, and i have gotten more calm about it. you just have to tilt their head back and pinch their nose tight (or let them do it) and hold plenty opf kleenex under there...and just wait for it to stop. it's scary because there's so much blood. i have never had a nose bleed before (knock on wood) but my niece gets them sometimes, kind of regularly.

don't sweat anon idiots.
