Oh My Sweet Baby, Things Will Get Better Soon--I Hope! For The Love Of All That Is Good In The World--Please Let It Get Better Soon!

Ever since we took the binki away from Olivia she has refused to take a nap. She tells us that she would take a nap if we would give her the binki back--NOT going to happen. This means that everyday from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. she is an ornery beast. She whines (which by the way I HATE), she cries, and she throws little tantrums and it is all because she is tired. Silly girl--just take a nap!!

Well--she started in today and it all stemed from Hannah's little friend coming over and giving her a birthday present. Olivia really wants that Diamond Barbie Princess! She started screaming and crying and throwing a fit. I told her that she needed to go and lay on her bed and that just made it worse (and louder). So I took the approach of just ignoring her and the pictures are what I found.

She walked into the family room, laid down on the very edge of the rug (right under where her dad was sitting in the lazy boy playing Wii) and fell RIGHT to sleep. And when I say RIGHT, I mean RIGHT! I know this faze will pass but the poor thing is exhausted--and so am I!!

Oh that picture is cute. Maybe she'll just fall asleep everywhere at nap time anyway. ;)

That is just too pitiful.Poor thing. I remember those days! No fun! I wish I had given my daughter a binki. You can't take a thumb away.she's 7 and still sucking her thumb. but she tries to hide it by draping her blanket OVER her face/hand....and she actually thinks we don't know what's going on under that blanket. oh, the blanket is a whole other story! she acts like it's the end of the world if she can't find her blanket...but she leaves it everywhere we go. it's at my parents' house right now, and has been for over a week. so sad. maybe i should ask my mom to throw it away and just act like it mysteriously disappeared???

Oh...wishing these days were over for you. Glad that she did get a nap today, however it was gotten....maybe she'll pass out again tomorrow and think how wonderful she'll be after 2 days of napping!

I really need to wear my glasses more often. I kept reading "binki" as "bikini". Silly Brittany, bikinis aren't for kids.

My kids never really liked binkeys but I still get to ignore them, A LOT!

First off, your floor is GORGEOUS. I was a binky addict myself. I slept with my binky until I was 20 years old. Yes, twenty. And I would have slept with it longer but my mother-in-law thought she would be "nice" and washed it for me and it fell apart. Once I wrapped it up for myself and gave it to myself as a Christmas present, abstaining from my binky for a WHOLE month. I still miss it. It had a pink kitty on it and pink ruffles. I had twisted the nubbies so much there was only one left when it disintegrated.

I am almost 30, yet I am still searching for the replacement... :)

Torina-
Thanks! It is the original flooring that was put into the house when it was built. We decided to rip the carpet up and surprise, surprise it was in perfect condition!

I was also a binki baby and my mom never wanted to take it away. She stopped buying them when I was three and the when the last one fell apart (sound familiar) I was done--I thing I was 4 or 5.

You should have just laid on the floor right there next to here and taken a nap also! (just remind cute hubby not to release the foot rest while you are under there. Oowwey.)

My 9 year old still needs his blankey to fall asleep. It is in shreds, and my husband is very alarmed by this habit. I think, "well, he is falling asleep so don't bother him!" For now, it stays.

Jillene, clearly you are a terrible parent, since you didn't immediately run out and get her the Diamond Barbie Princess. Aren't all parents supposed to give their kids exactly what they want when they throw a tantrum?

Maybe that's just the parents I work with whose kids smoke pot all day long, don't go to school, and call their mom the "B" word.

Yeah, keep doing what you're doing.
