Wow--2 posts for me today! *I am going to let you all in on a little secret. I hate odd numbers. I hate seeing them on my blog. I hate when I look at April and May's blog history and see odd numbers. I am OCD about it. Things have to be even--at least numbers that I can physically see. I hate license plates with odd numbers so I add them up and hopefully they come out even. Anyways....enough about that!
I went to the school on Friday to help Zachary's teacher. She is a brand new teacher this year and is completely un-organized. She used to be a librarian so organization is important to her. She just doesn't have the time to do it all by herself. The poor thing has been coming to school at 6:00 a.m. and going home at 6:00 p.m. and still can't get the things done that she wants to. I volunteered to help her as much as I can. So she called on Thursday and asked for my help.
She asked me what I wanted to do and I told her anything. So----she gave me a lot of copying and laminating to do. That meant that I got to spend 4-1/2 hours in the teacher work room. Let me tell you that the teacher work room has 2 copy machines, a huge laminator and big cutters--which in turn means that it is like 4,000 degrees in there.
Sorry--I am kind of a rambler. Anyways--I ended up doing about 1,000 or more copies (really--I am NOT exaggerating). My good friend Tina was there helping her son's teacher but didn't have enough to keep her busy--well that and this stupid annoying lady came in and took her copy machine--so she did all of this laminating for Zach's teacher.
Zach's teacher--Miss Gustaveson--kept coming into the work room and crying because she was so appreciative of all the help. I was really glad that I could help her and I think I will put in some hours on Wednesday or Thursday to do some more work for her.
See--I ramble. The point that I really wanted to make was that I was so surprised that Zachary was not embarrassed of me. He is in 4th grade so I thought he would be too cool for his mom. Not so much!! He held my hand in the hall, he hugged me when he went into class and he bragged about me to all of his classmates! I guess I better enjoy it while it lasts right?! I love you Zach!! You are such a GREAT kid!! Thanks for making me feel like the cool mom!!

You ARE the cool mom, that is, when you aren't in the HOT teacher workroom. Ugh!
My kids always say I embarass them... but really, who doesn't jump and scream at the parades for candy and goodies.... don't all moms do that?
This made me smile :) You were such a great friend to do all of that for her. No wonder she was crying, over 1,000 copies!!!
Zach held your hand and hugged you?!! That's go great! I hope he does that all the time. I hope he never thinks it's uncool :) I hope my kids don't think I'm uncool!! So weird right now, because I'm totally cool. (at least I think I am....)
My son is already embarrassed of me, I don't even have one yet. Too bad.
Ramona-
Always! I am a screamer for sure! I do it at sporting events too--good times!
Whitney-
You will be a cool mom--I can tell!
Yes-Zach held my hand and hugged me--it brought a tear or two to my eyes. He really is a great kid!
Kristina-
Uuuummmm....you will be THE COOLEST mom! Your kids will be lucky! Seriously!
Man--I am on a serious kick. Must be getting to be my emotional time of the month or something. I went all serious on Torina too.
That is so sweet! Enjoy it while it lasts. That is awesome you could help his teacher, he will probably get a better grade because of it! ha ha
You're such a saint. I probably wouldn't have offered my help, I try to stay away from copy machines, I get way too tempted to copy inappropriate body parts.
The only helpful thing I've done all day is make the sixth (even number) comment on your post. You're welcome!
You're my kind of girl Mary! I think I would have done body part copies but the room has no door and there are teachers and aids in and out of there all day--how embarassing to get caught with my pants down by a teacher or even worse--my son! (0:
How great of you to help out the teacher. I'm sure she is so thankful. (well, I guess the tears kind of said that for her.) Glad your son is still happy to have you around. It's wonderful to be loved by your kids.
I hope that my son will let me do that one day.. My Zach is only 4 and he won't give me kisses anymore. He has great hugs but no kisses.
Your a great mommy for helping Zachary's teacher. good work..
Angela-
4 is like the rotten age. I hated 4 with both of my older children. They were turds. He will snap out of it--promise (at least I hope--mine both did). Everyone said terrible 2's--not so much around here (with the exception of Liv) it was Rotten, Nasty, Horrible, Terrible 4's! Good luck!
