Who Watches This Crap? Part 2

Tonight I had the pleasure (NOT) of watching Man vs. Wild--Matt had the remote. It is a show on the Discovery Channel about a man named Bear Grylls who basically shows you how to survive in the wilderness if you are lost or whatever. So--here is what I witnessed on this lovely show tonight. He was in Mexico and 1st he was stung by a bee somewhere on his face which in turn swelled all up. His cheeks were swollen, his eyes were swollen and so on and so forth. Then he finds a rodent of some kind and rips its head off and guts it (yes--right there in front of the camera), strings it on a stick and says, "You have to cook this on extremely high heat because they contain rabies and you could contract the disease if not cooked properly". Uhhh....o.k. Then he eats it and is gagging the entire time. The next day he locates a Diamondback Rattlesnake and hits it on the head again and again and cooks and eats it. Then using the skin as a canteen he fills it up with....drum roll please.... his own pee. He decides that he is very thirsty and...YES...oh yes...he drinks the pee. He is pouring it into his mouth, spilling it all over himself, it is dripping off his chin and all the while he is gagging. Now by this point I am gagging right along with him. I decided that enough is enough but by that time the show was over. NEVER again will I be subjected to this complete and utter IDIOT!!

OK, did you see the one where he was in the Sahara, and he ended up scooping out the innards of a dead camel, so he could sleep in the animal carcass to protect himself from the sun? Who doesn't need that kind of life saving information?!?!

Seriously, anything you want to know about TV or pop culture, just ask.

my dad watches this show, it was on one day we went over to their house. Needless to say I watched about a minute and was done, I have a very queezy stomach. I am not sure what the attraction is...

Oh, come on. He's not that bad. Plus, he's providing a service. I appreciate all of his helpful information. The next time I parachute into a remote, far-flung, desolate and dangerous place, I guess I'll be prepared and if you ever do the same, you won't be because you refuse to watch. (I'll bet that you couldn't tear your eyes away from the screen.)

P.S. I forgot to mention that despite sometimes having creepy eyes, don't know why they scare me but they do, Bear is kind of one of my "dirty/messy" celebrity crushes.

Oh, don't get me wrong. The guy in definatley not ugly and he has a GREAT body--but the stuff he does and the things he puts into his mouth--GAG!

I know that I said that I would never watch this show again but I will gurantee that if Matt has the remote I will be watching it. I guess i could just walk away but Christa you are right--something makes me stay and watch--gross and demented as tht is! My brother has this saying, "It's kinda like the sun, you shouldn't look directly at it but you just have to and then the stupid thing is that you do it again and again".
