Last night we had a ward party. It was held at our Stake Center Pavilion. It was a BBQ with pork chops and hot dogs, lots of different salads, and cookies for dessert. After dinner there were games to play, a bounce house for the kids, water bottle rockets and football. Everyone really had a great time. I think that Matt, Darryl and the Bishop had more fun with the water bottle rockets than the kids did! (0:
Tina--You did an AMAZING job as usual! I am so glad that you put so much of your time and energy into your callings! You are an outstanding Activity Chairperson!
I didn't play any games. I just sat around and gabbed with all of my friends/sisters. It is always nice to just sit and talk to the girls!

Sounds like good times!
I think we're branch outcasts since we never go to anything. I work until 8 PM on weeknights, so I don't go to activities.
Nevermind that we actually go to church. We've been in the ward/branch over 3 years, and I STILL get asked if I'm new. No! I've said the prayer in Relief Society for the past 3 weeks!
Sorry, I needed to vent. :)
You are ALWAYS welcome to vent here! I am a venter too so beware! (0:
It is hard when you work the swing shift. My husband works from 8 am to 8 pm so he missed out on a lot too.
Do you have a calling in your ward/branch? It is crazy that you get asked if you are new? Is your ward/branch that big?
We don't have a calling. The situation is that we mostly have apartment complexes here. We live in the only condo complex, so we have a ton of people coming and going, which is why you would think they would remember us.
About 3 months ago, they removed the other condo complex from our ward, put them in with another ward, and made us a branch. It's all very strange. I just had my temple recommend interview, so the Branch President is aware of us and that we don't have a calling.
Very strange! Maybe you can attend my ward--stay living where you are and get special permission to come to my ward. (0:
We are so short on people--some of us have 2-3 callings each. We also have those that just don't want to serve or who want to pick and choose their callings or put stipulations on their callings. I really irritates me! See--here I go venting!
Needless to say--we would be thrilled to have great people like you and Adam in our ward! Your ward/branch are really missing out!
