Zachary's Talk and Father's Day

Yesterday was Father's Day. Zachary was asked by Steve to give a talk in sacrament meeting. He immediately accepted the invitation. He sat down on Thursday and wrote the talk. He had me type it up and I did have to help him word a few phrases but all in all he wrote the talk himself. I was really proud of him. I asked him if he was nervous and he said that he wasn't. I told him all morning to remember to talk loud and slow. One of his best buddies Tyler was also asked to speak so they were able to sit on the stand together. They looked so grown up!! I always want to remember Zach's talk so I am including it in this post. I am very proud of you Zach!!

MY DAD
He is nice, fun, smart, and great. He is always there to help me. He sometimes gets mad at me but I know it’s because he wants me to be safe. I like to help my dad build stuff. He helps me with Scouts. We built a birdhouse together. He helps me with my homework. He works hard so I can have a nice house, water, TV, computer, nice clothes, food to eat and a trampoline. He teaches me right from wrong. He is a good example to me of a worthy priesthood holder. He gives me blessings when I am sick and also before I start school each year. He teaches me that service is important by fulfilling his callings and by doing things for others. He takes me places like Disneyland, movies, camping, car races, scout camp, Lagoon, and other fun places. He also makes sure that I go to church every Sunday unless I am sick. He baptized and confirmed me. I am glad that he is my dad. I hope that one day when I am a dad I can be just like him! He is the BEST dad and I love him!!

MY GRANDPA
He is fun to play with. He shows me the right way to hold a baseball bat. He tells me to relax when I get stressed. He takes me on scooter rides—yes my grandpa rides a scooter! We go on long walks together. We play on the computer together. He lets me come over to his house every Sunday for dinner. He always comes to watch me do whatever I am doing. He is an electrician and can fix lots of things. He is also a worthy priesthood holder and a good example to me. I am glad that he is my grandpa. He is the BEST grandpa and I love him!! Happy Father’s Day Dad and Grandpa!! In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I hope that Matt had a good Father's Day. He had to work (that sucked) but I didn't know it until after church was over--he was able to sneak away and come and listen to Zachary's talk. He was so proud of Zach. My Mom and Dad also came to Sacrament Meeting. Zachary had us all in tears! We gave Matt a barbecue and a weed whacker for Father's Day. He got both presents early but I don't think he cared. I am so thankful to have such a great Dad. He supports me and my family in all that we do. I am especially thankful for Matt. He is the GREATEST Dad!! I love you both--Happy Father's Day!!
