Mr. 'Tude and It's Nice To Be Loved

Summer vacation has just started and already my son has a 'tude!! He has been out of school just a few short days and already he is whining and complaining that his life is so boring. He has been mean to his sisters and worst--he has been back talking to me. I finally had to tell him today that if the 'tude doesn't stop--he will be grounded. First warning, he's grounded for 1 week (and when I say grounded I mean no TV, no computer, no radio, no friends, no outside play, no nothing!). Second warning, he's grounded for 2 weeks--and so on. Boy did he straighten up pretty quick!! He has been great ever since our little talk!!

On the lighter side--we went to my mom's today. We stopped by my brother's house and Mindy was hosting a play group. We stayed for about 1 hour and let the kids play and then we decided to go and get some lunch. As we were leaving my 2 year old niece Brooklyn was standing at their back fence crying hysterically. She calls me Wene because she can't say Jillene. She kept calling me and asking me to put her in my car. I started pulling out of the driveway and she grabbed the fence and screamed, "NO WENE!! Don't leave me!!" I was heart broken!! I pulled back into the driveway, lifted her over the fence and put her in my car. She calmed down immediately. The rest of the play group disbanded and so we all went to lunch together. Boy it's nice to be loved!!

I've already had to threaten Cameron with the loss of swimming lessons. Although, not for 'tude, for his other "problem". It scared him pretty bad yesterday, but we'll see if he remembers the threat today and then if he has another problem.

My kids have not gotten the 'tude yet, because they have been cleaning their room so they have alot to do for a while. But we will see when their rooms are clean how long it will take them to start fighting.
