Inner City Mission
My parents are on an Inner City Mission downtown. They LOVE it!! They have a lot of African refugees that they are trying to teach English to. They go every Wednesday afternoon/evening to help them. I never realized how hard it must be to come from another country, not knowing how to speak the language. These refugees try so hard to learn to speak English and they love it here. The Deseret Industries has a work program that helps them to learn the skills that they will need when it is time to go out into the job world (the program is only 18 months). I had the opportunity to go with my mom yesterday to the D.I. (she mentors a few of them) and meet some of these sweet, sweet people. First I met Saraphina who immediately embraced me. Then I met her husband Pierre. Then I met Angelique who embraced me and kept saying, "My sister, my sister!" See these sweet people call my parents mom and dad so in their eyes I guess I am their sister. I was very overcome with emotion (and still am) at how someone I have never met before could instantly love me and call me sister. I am so proud of my parents and their willingness to serve the Lord. They are doing amazing things with these African refugees. They are wonderful examples to me and my children. I really have the BEST parents in the world and I love them with ALL of my heart!!

what a cool experience for them and you! My parents live not too far from downtown and they have service missionaries in their ward all the time. I wonder if they are serving in my parent's ward?
BLESSINGS!!!!!! Will you mention to your mom I'm still up for adoption?
