Welcome Home
Saturday we had a big family party for Matt's brother Ryan. He returned home after serving a tour in Iraq. It was very unnerving having him there knowing that anything could happen to him at any time. Matt and Ryan had a very strained relationship until just recently. I think that Ryan did a lot of growing up over in Iraq. And I think that it was a wake up call for Matt. I would never want or wish any loved one to go to war but it has made a huge impact on our family. Matt and Ryan are actually civil to each other and genuinely seem to care about each other. I am really glad that Ryan is home and that he is safe. He will be stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado so not too far away. I hope that we will see him more often and maybe I can take what I learned in Ward Conference today and be a missionary to him. Welcome Home Ryan!! I love you and I really did miss you!!

I'm glad that he's home safe and sound. My brother just left Japan after having about 3 weeks leave. He's back in Afghanistan until at least the end of the year and he says it's hot as $#&%. It takes a special person to be a soldier and be able to do that. It's nice that Ryan will be close to family. Josh will be in Tennessee for at least another 3 years. I think that you're stationed for 5 years in an area. I don't know what happens after the 5 years are up. Maybe he'll be staying there for a long time.
