To Whom It May Concern (or in other words Qwest):
I really enjoy my computer and your super fast Internet service. I am happy with my lifetime guarantee of price and your commitment to giving me the best quality product. I always pay my bill on time so I expect exceptional service. Is that too much to ask? Apparently it is.
See--we have this continual problem with our service. The Internet will just turn off for no reason and then it will stay off for a few minutes, or an hour, or a few hours, or a few days. It always seems to go off when I am right in the middle of something important like, paying bills or most important blogging. This makes me VERY un-happy.
I call your customer service line and speak to someone who is trying very hard to find out the reason for the problems but no one ever seems to figure it out. I have had my bill reduced several times which was nice but I still have a problem. I have had service men come out and check the lines and I have even had a good friend run a new line--just for the Internet. Everything is in tip top shape which means there should be no problems. Why does this keep happening to me? Am I just the special one that you like to antagonize? Maybe I will just "forget" to pay my bill a few times and when you call to find out why (or to let me know service is being disconnected) I can say, "Well, seeing as how I haven't had Internet for 20 out of 30 days I figured you wouldn't mind me not paying my bill". Now I know that this probably wouldn't fly but I am really sick and tired of the same problem happening over and over again. Can't I just have blissful Internet service at my beckon call? Is that really too much to ask? I guess in my case it is!!

Um...hello. Don't they understand that you have some serious blog stalking to do, and that many people are depending on you for your comments!?! Come on.
That is really frustrating! I hope it gets fixed soon.
We have had Qwest for two months now, and I have had to call FOUR different times with problems (i.e. no internet service, running at 0.3 mps when I am paying for 3.0 mps). What the?!? I'm on the lookout for a better internet provider.
We have Qwest and it does the same thing, and nobody seems to care but me.
Well I guess I am not the only one--that makes me feel better--a little bit.
Mary-
I care--oh how I care.
Hmmm... I'm not sure who my provider is but it's great! Never a problem. And that's sayin something especially since I live in the boonies.
So when you call them, do they say "They have the internet on computers now?"?
The dred pirate qwest...they steal your sole with promises of a life of ease and fortune...and then they violate you monthly.
Sounds like Qwest is giving everyone a hard time. Is that the only option you have in your area? :( Hope it gets resolved quick! We need you bloggy friend!
That sucks! I think someone needs a button!
ME TOO.
So here's the deal. I don't know if you do this already and it doesn't work so you might just want to slap me. BUT, when our internet suddenly stops, randomly, for off periods of time...
I go down and take the little pluggy thing out of the back of the router (the DSL thingy). I wait (impatiently) for about ten seconds and then I plug it back in. Magically, it makes the quest for Qwest a reality. Maybe this is a dumb idea, but I thought I'd throw it out there?
jillene,, I hope you get it fixed. I soooo look forward to your blog and comments.. Hope that your feeling better
I love Qwest. I love them because when we first got married (before everyone had a cell phone) and went to hook up phone service, they went on strike and we had to wait 2 weeks until they decided to be off strike to come hook up our phone. Then when it was hooked up, they wanted us to pay a $125 deposit to have long distance through them. Umm, yeah, no thanks. I love them even more when I call, and the person I am talking to has the thickest accent that I usually just end up hanging up and calling back until I get someone that I can understand and that understands me. Did I mention I love Qwest?
Ahhh...well played Qwest. Distracting your customers away from the fact that you are not providing superior service by giving them lower monthly bills.
Sorry for your troubles. I've had the random glitch with them, but never for very long periods of time and not that often.
Our router backs up too, because we have wireless hooked up and they interfere with each other at random moments- we do the unplug and replug and it seems to always work, but I don;t QWEST , so I don;t know if that will help at all.
I DO KNOW how bad it SUCKS to want to be online and not have it work when you are ready. HATE THAT!@
keep a calendar by the computer, mark down the days that the internet actually works, and them send them a copy of said calendar with your payment. (your payment for only the days you had service)
Heather-
We do that and sometimes it works and sometimes not!
Angela-
Thanks!! I look forward to your blog too--which reminds me that you still haven't posted pics of the new haircut....I am waiting!!
Vanessa-
That was GREAT!! My sentiments exactly!!
Christa-
I have almost called you on a few occasions to see if I could run over and finish my online bill paying--and then it miraculously will turn on--I think they are the Chineese with mind control and tin foil hats.
Rychelle-
I love this idea!! I will be implementing it..NOW!!
Kristina-
I tried and tried to put a button on my blog but it keeps saying that picture or image has been deleted. What the?
Oh to be at the mercy of the Qwest! Do they not understand how important blogging can be?
OK! my comcast internet went down a week or two ago, I felt like my right arm had been cut off, because I couldn't come blog and read my comments, and talk to everyone!!! I made my geek squad neighbor come over at 10 p.m. and call comcast to get me back online!!
so I understand how you feel!!
Jillene, did you try the button again? Danielle said it was working for her.
I had this problem with my former provider. They tried to say it was "the wiring in the building" and the "building was old". Hello! None of that had to do with my computer. they even crawled around in the attic.
So frustrating and really, there is no excuse for someone to be screwing around with your blogability! Blog stalking is serious work.
GRRR! You make me glad we switched to Comcast.
Danielle-
I know--right?!
Wendy-
Welcome back!! I have been missing that sunglassed face!!
Kristina-
Yes--I tried it and it still didn't work. I will wait and try again tomorrow.
Holly-
It IS frustrating!! Oh yeah--hope Butterfly is doing better!!
Jo-
I am glad I can make you happy! (0;
Thanks for coming by! I would say "Good luck winning the quilt", but I am going to be the one winning so it would be useless for me to say that. And yes, my mom is super-cool. But don't tell her I said that. She will lord it over me for the rest of my life!!
Ugh! Been there.
Jillene that SUCKS. Do you have cable modem,DSL,etc...you're not a dial up are you? I have never heard of this Qwest company, we have like 10 options in CT, mine works good! Love it!
Friday? You know if you guys didn't want to invite me, you shouldn't talk about it, cause now I know! waaahhhh....
I am going to go eat worms.
Aaaawwww Jo!! Of course you are invited. We are doing it because Whitney couldn't make it last Sat. because of the snow--she's in Idaho. Please come if you can--I REALLY want to meet you!!
Why I otta'...Seriously...I'm pretty fed up with good old Qwest too. Can you guess what will happen with my contract runs out in January???
hmmm, if only you could do something that would intimidate them into always making sure your service works so they don't have to see or deal with you.... while I'm stalking you, I'll figure something out... and it will be awesome!
ok, that would bug! big time! ICK, thanks for the heads up on Qwest! We just use bellsouth.net
