Deck The Halls--Or I My Case, The Home

Well--we finally got the Christmas tree and decorations up on Friday. The kids were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. I, on the other hand, was a little apprehensive because we bought a new tree last year after Christmas (let me just say that I got a $400 tree for $99--whoo hoo) and I wasn't sure if I would be able to get it together by myself. It was heavy and tall (7.5 feet) but I managed. My husband helped where he could and I was thankful for that. The kids were so excited to decorate the new tree. I made them go one at a time at first so I could get pictures.

They had so much fun and my tree looks BEAUTIFUL!! I found some really cute ornament balls at a local craft store that looked like Santa's belly. I fell in love--until I looked at the price. $6.99 each--WHAT THE?! Rip off!! Then my crafty husband said that he could make me some with black electrical tape and a silver glitter glue pen. And sure enough--he did it!! They are SO cute!!

I decorate my house and tree in Santa's only--except for the few Nativity sets that I have in a special place. My tree topper is even a Santa hat. Here is what the top of my entertainment center looks like all decorated.

I am glad that we got everything done and that it looks so cute and festive. I am now officially in the Christmas Spirit!!

Cute!! I'm so unfestive. I have 2 christmas tree candles and a menorah up in my house. That's it. Oh and some other Hanukkah stuff. I lost all my Christmas stuff after freshman year, and I've never bought more.... oh well!

We just bought shiny red ornament balls, he wrapped black electrical tape around them and then drew on the buckle with a silver glitter glue pen. SUPER easy!!
