Christmas Chorus Concert

Last night Z performed in the school chorus group at the mall. Who knew that you would have to get there an hour early to get a seat?! Luckily my parents decided to shop around before the concert so they saved me some seats. The chorus is a mix of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders. One of the 5th grade teachers is the leader. They did such an AMAZING job!! The songs were not the norm and they were lots of fun. The kids sang GREAT!! My son is so animated and so into it. He made me smile and laugh the entire time. Z had a speaking part to announce a couple of songs. He was nervous but he got up there and did AWESOME!! The only drawback was that I got stuck next to a crazy older man who kept yelling in the middle of the songs, laughing REALLY loud the entire time and he was kind of stinky--oh well--such is my luck!! I am so proud of Z!! He is such a sweet, funny, helpful, and smart boy!! I am a VERY luck mom to have him!!
*I wanted to post actual pictures of the chorus but the school name is on their shirts so I decided against it.*

How fun!!! Sorry you got stuck sitting by a stinky crazy older man.

Love school performances but the crowds can get crazy and yeah you never know who will end up sitting by.

You could always go into the paint program and put a big block over the school name. Although that'd probably take 10 years, so it's not worth it. Ha!
I'm glad they did well, and that Z had a great time up there. When I was younger I got horrible stage fright.
And yet I still tried out for my fifth grade version of Shakespeare.
Yep, we did Shakespeare in fifth grade.

Lee-
That's AWESOME!! I love Shakespeare!! He NEVER gets stage fright. I think he should become an actor and make lots of money so that he can take care of his poor mom!!

That brings back memories from when our older kids used to perform in the malls! That's precious! Congrats Z!

Ya know, the mall at Christmas time here is just lame compared to the malls at Christmas time in Utah. No kids singing here. There are a few lights up though. haha.

How totally fun. These are, I think, some of the best things about Christmas.

Sorry about the stinky old guy. But that just helps you appreciate all of the times in life when there is no stinky old guy around!

Stinky Old Guys need some holiday cheer too! Hahaha

Oh- I saw these eiffel tower Christmas ornaments at Target the other day and I thought of you! They were so cute!

I love watching kids perform. Sorry you had to sit next to mister pleasant, but I'm so glad Z did well and you were able to enjoy him anyhow.

On the way home, Ryan said to Tyler, "Z was really into singing all of those songs and doing all of the actions. How come you didn't do as much?" Tyler's not what you would call animated when he's in front of people. I'm going to try to get to the performance tomorrow morning and see if he can ham it up just a little.

That's so cool! I can't wait for my kids to do that sort of stuff. What a fun time for the family and a great way for him to have a good time. Sorry about the old, stinky dude. We have a lot of those here where we live. Everyone smells like Metamucil or Ben-Gay. Such is life, I am sure I will smell like it too, one day ;) Congrats!

I sat by a stinky man at my kids Christmas concert too. How funny! That's great that the school has a choir for elementary aged kids. Very fun. Hope your family has a WONDERFUL Christmas! Tomorrow is our last day of school. We can't wait!

I love those moments of pure parental pride (minus the stinky man).

Kids concerts are second best to the primary program. I love that one kid who sings so freaking loud and picks their nose.
