To The Cannery We Go
Christa, Tina, Jean Hill and I went to the cannery this morning to do Honey. Our shift started at 10:00 a.m. and we were practically the first ones there. We got in and were told the rules (no jewelry, no gum, etc.) and then we had to put on the beautiful blue hairnet. Then we were instructed to wash up, put on a plastic apron and rubber gloves. Now it was time to assign the jobs. I made sure that I was one of the first ones through the door so I didn't get the crappy job (I already did that when we did Spaghetti Sauce). I got to load the Honey bottles onto a circular spinning thing that funneled them through to be filled with honey. Talk about a piece of cake job!! Tina got to box up the bottles and Christa and Jean got to screw on lids. I was able to work with a sister from Farmington and a sister from Kaysville. They were both very nice and before we knew it our shift was over (honestly--it seemed like we were only there for 15 minutes!). We were able to buy Honey but were limited to 2 cases each. The only other thing that was available was Seedless Raspberry Jam so I got a case of that too. I am glad that I was able to go and do service today. It truly does make me a happier person when I serve. I was also glad to be able to add to my food storage. All in all it was a good morning!!

It sounds like a good experience, especially buying the items. Raspberry jam is my favorite!! The case of honey would be a lot cheaper than I buy it for at the store which we go through like crazy (Landen's favorite).
