For the past week, O has been obsessed with wearing dance clothes and leotards. She refuses to wear real clothes and throws a fit every time I try and get her dressed. It was a struggle to get her ready for church yesterday as she wanted to wear her dance clothes. I asked her why she needed to wear a leotard every day and her response was, "Mom, I am a Balnerrina. I have to wear my dance clothes." And then she rolled her eyes at me and walked away. I guess she told me!!
** Just a little side note--she just barely came to me and told me that her socks were killing her. HAHAHAHAHAHA!! I almost peed my pants laughing so hard. What a kid!!**

That is too funny! Clothes stages are oh so much fun. Sometimes....
Honestly, I don't blame her!!
It sounds like you have a dancer on your hands. Get ready.
I totally know how she feels with the socks. They make my feet feel like they are suffocating.
I want to wear sweats every day. I'm sure the dance clothes are much nicer than my yellow sweats hahaha.
You could always tell her that leotards make your socks hurt.
I hope it's a stage as well. I would go crazy. But I'm sure she makes an adorable Balnerrina.
All three of my girls have done that stage at least one time, usually more. My 8 year old just watched the movie Ballet Shoes this week, and now she's in it again. Sort of. She has no dance clothes that fit now.
If I could, I'd wear my pink robe all day long.
LMBO!
she sounds like so much fun :)
Too cute! For your sake..I hopes its a phase! I will trade you one balnerrina for my pajama wearing boy. He insists on them being the one with the feet too...he won't take them off! We've had similar fights! Gotta love kids!
i had one who wanted to wear the same shirt every day for like 2 months. clothing phases can really be bad if they last long..
Cute! Cute! Cute! .... I kinda know what your dealing with my 2yrs old. has been on a Lighting McQueen kick and has to wanted to wear head to toe CARS outfit...ugh!!! if anything just the baseball cap will do.
I think I went through a stage where I wore the same white jeans for a month.
In my defense, I was three and it was the 80's.
My friend's little sister went through a swim suit phase. I don't recall exactly, but I think it lasted years. Good luck!
I went through this stage when I was little! I wore my leotard EVERYWHERE! Just be thankful it is at least a cute outfit!
Dance clothes to church in March?! Wow, she is hard core:)
At least she wants to be a balnerrina! My daughter was wanting to parade around in her pink leotard and black biker boots like a $2 hooker! LOL!
Well, duh! Didn't you know Balnerrinas can't be without their leotards? Seriously, it's that whole be prepared moto they adopted from the scouting program. After all, life is nothing but a musical and you never know when you may need to break out into song and dance.
So cute! That is one thing I miss out with all boys...no cute little stages like this one. Enjoy it, pretty soon she will move on to something else.
Goodness that kid is a hoot. I wonder if her socks snuck up on her with a gun or something?
Hey, maybe her socks are hurting her! You never know!
So this is what happens with girls. Boys won't change out of the Spiderman costume and girls are ballerinas 24 7. Oh well, this too shall pass :)
well it looks pretty comfy--think I can get away with it?
All three of my girls went through this phase. Embrace it. One day you will long for her to be a little girl again.
I've been off the blogging scene for a while, but I enjoyed catching up on your blog tonight.
Being a teacher, I could really appreciate the story about your son and the new girl. You are raising a wonderful young man.
THOSE leotards are cute! We HAD to wear long sleeve black leotards with pink tights, all 8 years I took dance classes! And I never got a cute skirt thing either!!
way too cute!
darn those socks. funny. you have me laughing so hard at this. great post.
Her socks are killing her???? what the???
yes, it is just a stage! She will outgrow it, and hopefully she won't revisit that stage when she is a teenager. Thanks for leaving me comments, I knew eventually I would get around to commenting on everyone's blog again!
