I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

I have some GREAT friends. As many of you know--we are trying to function with only 1 vehicle right now. It is a struggle and well, just a pain in the butt. But thanks to my dear friend Christa's husband Ryan, I haven't had to drag my kids out of the house at 7:00 a.m. to take Matt to work. Ryan is here every morning bright and early to pick him up. I don't think he really knows how much I appreciate him. He is a tried and true friend who would do anything for you (as is his amazing wife). Speaking of doing anything....he recently helped me retrieve my files and pictures from a broken computer and is in the process of loading them on to the new one. What a guy!!
Next I have a great friend Kristen who, despite having 5 children of her own, offered/volunteered to pick up H from Kindergarten yesterday while I was having my test done. That was such a big help to me and I REALLY appreciate it!!
Finally--I am so thankful for each and everyone of you!! All of your kind comments and e-mails during this past month were overwhelming. Who knew that I would be buoyed up by some I know but mostly people that I have never met face to face. Thanks for your kind words, encouraging words and especially your prayers. It's GREAT to have friends!!

Good friends really are the best. And having one vehicle is so not fun. We did that for the first 8 or 10 years of our marriage.

Friends can make the world of a difference can't they? I'm glad you've got some good one looking out for you.

I hope Ryan wasn't too much of a punk while fixing your computer. He tends to veer a little bit to the turdish side.

I'm so glad you have those friends both tangibly and through the blog. Maybe someday I can be both. You are awesome.

It's truly amazing when you think about all the goodness people can do for one another and what a blessing we can be in each other's lives. How awesome that you have such good friends who see the need and do! What an inspiration.

When I first read through this post, I confused your friend "Kristen" with Kristina P. of the blogworld. I thought, when did Kristina P have five kids? What?!?! Thankfully, I clicked on your link and all was resolved.

Whew!

So tell me, Jillene, who am I in your band of super heroes? :)

Jillene, we have had only one car for the vast majority of the past 7 years and I have to say, it works out!
Probably twice a year we really REALLY wish we had a second car. Of course it helps that hubby's job provides his transportation.

I know how wonderful good friends are even those you have never met. There are some ladies who helped me through my illness last May that I will forever be grateful for, even though we have never met.
