I saw the Twilight movie on Saturday night. After reading all of the reviews I went with VERY low expectations. I had pretty much decided as we were on our way to the theater that I was going to hate it and that I just wasted $9.00. However--I was very surprised. I LIKED it!! NOW--before you get all huffy on me hear me out. It followed the book pretty well. Of course there were some things that drove me nuts--like the fact that Billy CAN'T drive but he was driving in the movie, the fact that Edward's skin is cold so they don't touch or kiss a lot--but they did in the movie. Some of the acting was cheesy--Jasper looked like he needed to poop every time you saw him--I laughed every time he came on the screen. But for the most part I really liked it. I was anti Robert Pattinson until I saw him in the movie. Now I am not anti AT ALL!! HOLY CRAP he was HOT--in Twilight. Not so much in real life--he needs a comb or something. Those are my 2 cents--take them for what they are worth--2 cents!!

I completely agree. Except I went with no expectations. But yes, the acting in some.. pooping jasper, and horrible camera angles. Other than that - GREAT!

I also really liked it, I thought the first scene when she walked past the fan he looked like he was going to throw up because she smelled bad not like he wanted to kill her because she smelled good. But I still really liked it, I am curious to read Kristina's review. I hope she likes it and has to admit that she thinks Edward is hot, that would be cool. Hey if you are willing to try chocolate covered bacon maybe some part of you will like Twilight right?

I went and saw it at the MIDNIGHT release! I LOVED IT!!! I, too, didn't think Edward was going to be cute...but O, My...was I wrong. It was the best movie base on a book as I have ever seen. Most of them change it completely...this one was pretty well right on!!!! I can't wait for the other ones!!!! I am obsessed!

She tried to get me to taste that NASTY Chacon but was steadfast and didn't do it. I hate bacon anyway so it wasn't that hard to resist!!
I'm still not sold on it. It hasn't been a big deal to me to see it and I don't know if I ever will.
Jasper was ridiculous. Besides that, I thought the movie was okay.
I have to admit that Robert Pattinson did look pretty HOT in some of the scenes! There was a few things that annoyed me that ruined the movie for me. Like the worst having teenybopper chicks that were sitting beside us and giggling everytime Edward touched Bella.
I am so embarrassed to admit that I totally agree with you. I do think that going in expecting to see a really cruddy movie helps. BUt yeah, I even thought Robert Pattinson was pretty hot by the end of it. And I about barfed when I first saw who was cast for that role.

I do have to add, though, that I totally laughed the first time I saw Carlisle. Powdery white make up face and bleached blond hair WITH DARK ROOTS!! Too funny. He played the role well, though.

My expectations were low but to my surprise I really enjoyed it. I LOVED Alice and hated Rosalie (in a good way she was perfect for the role) and Jasper reminded me of Edward Scissor Hands. I didn’t care for the girl who played Bella but liked Edward a lot more than I thought I would. I thought Jacob was perfect…but then again I have always been a Jacob fan.

I want to wait until I do not have any giggl'n teens {and grown woman} to annoy me. I am still going to wait til the CRAZE dies down. It's not top on my priority list, to see it. I am also afraid that the way I have imagined everyone to look like and act like, will be clouded by the movie! I do not know if my feeble weak mind can handle it!

I seriously left the theatre with some conflicting feelings that I haven't quite gotten over. I am not sure if it's because I was consistently comparing the book to the movie, or because it was around 2am, but the whole thing was surreal. It wasn't like any other movie I have ever seen.
My biggest complaint: Horrendously cheesy. Too much makeup, too much bad acting, just too much. If they would have toned it down a little, I think I would have like it more. Made it a little more subtle.
I just don't like Kristen Stewart. Grr.

I agree with the too much make-up stuff. Especially the lipstick--what the?! I am not so fond of Kristen Stewart either but I made due!
To be fair, I have not seen this movie yet, also, to be fair, I am not a huge fan of anime...however...i think they really missed an opportunity with this film. It should have been done in anime. There is so much that can be done with the animation that could have made it more believable than can be done with makeup. I actually still think they could do something really cool as a series with it. And if they think they have a huge audience now, just think of all the crossovers they could reach through that genre. but alas, I am not the person who makes those decisions.
I'm glad you liked it. It was pretty good, but your description of Jasper was spot on! I think I might see it again when I'm not in the theater with bunch of giggling women at midnight...though it was pretty fun :)

It was so good! I loved it & I havent even read twilight, I am now though! So, ya I love it now I am on the bandwagon, I was thought edward was hot! The tackiest thing that stuck out in my mind & made me feel awkward... was when edward said to bella "hold on spider monkey" blegh it made me cringe

I have yet to see it (even though I LOVED the books). I was going to see it the day it opened, but plans fell through and so I wait... I am excited, but it just looked so made for tv movie-ish that I really haven't wanted to see. Now that I haven't, I want to. I am so glad he ends up being hot, because I almost cried when I found out he was Edward!

I saw the movie last night. I'll be posting my review on Tuesday.
It was everything I thought it would be. Super cheesy, poor makeup, and poor acting.
And Robert Pattinson still is not remotely hot. AT ALL. I was grimacing in every scene he was in. At least it looked like he showered. I think if it had been an actor I think is attractive, I could have enjoyed it more.
i liked the movie. i guess the dude who played edward wouldn't be MY type, personally, but i do think he's a cute kid. i wouldn't consider him a hot hunk of a man or anything like that...BUT i don't think he's ugly or anything. he has striking features. i thought he was cute on harry potter too. cute in a teenagery emo kind of way. like not the type who'd be good at fixing a car, but he could probably write a nice love song for you. LOL
i like a combo of both and that's what i've got!
