I have, on one or more occasions, expressed my complete loathing of laundry. It is my arch nemesis, my worst nightmare, sick and wrong (you get my point). Anyway--I have this friend. A really good friend that has been harping on me, I mean gently nudging me every chance she gets, to do one load of laundry each day. I have been resistant, because I am a butt like that. But I decided to give it a try. I have been successful for the last 2 weeks. One load everyday. My biggest worry was that I would forget about it and leave it in the washer--which in turn would make a load of moldy smelling clothes that had to be re-washed. I am happy to report that I have only forgotten once--and that load was actually in the dryer overnight, so no re-washing just a touch-up in the dryer. So I guess this post is to say thank you my dear friend. You have made me a believer and it really has made my life easier. Now you can stop harassing me. (0:

I'm a fanatic about checking the clothes, because I grew up in such a humid city that any longer than an hour and you had to re-wash...bleah!!!!
Urgh. Laundry and dishes both.
I usually do all of it in one day. Then I spend the next two afternoons on the phone while I fold. :)
I have a good husband. He does all our laundry.
You're welcome.
Heather--I used to do it all in one - two days. But I was miserable. Laundry for 5 people piles up REALLY fast. I decided to try 1 load everyday it it has been great!!
Christa--
I am so grateful for your wisdom in all things laundry. Seriously--my life is SO much eaiser!!
Ugh. I haven't done laundry since, um, September.... Yeah.
I always so one load a day and have for awhile. Otherwise it turnes into Mount Washmore and I can't keep up.
Im ok with doing laundry up to the point of folding. I usually fold and let it live in the baskets until it is needed again. Ugh. I HATE putting away the laundry. But doing a little bit everyday sounds better.
I always tell myself that life would be easier if I would just throw a load in and rotate when I get home from work..but never do it! Maybe today I will start. No time like the present..right?!?
I do three loads every day...in the summer I go down to two because that is all my clothes line will hold.
That actually sounds like a good idea.
I might try it when I move out on my own.
I soooo need to get into the habit of just cleaning. My house is in a constant state of neglect :(
Kudos to you for keeping up with the laundry. us mother-women know how big of a torture it is to do.
JM
I didn't mind laundry so much because ever since we got married (over 8 yrs ago), we both do our own. But, my SIL moved in, and somehow I inherited my husbands laundry too...and with the twins on the way, I think the hatred will only grow.
The laundry is never ending at my house. oh well, I actually prefer the laundry to the dishes. I hate washing dishes. :)
It tickes me that you like my stories!
I hate laundry also.. I have 4 loads waiting to wash, 2 loads folded needing to be put away.
1 in the dryer to be folded. (there are only 2 of us..)
If I had a friend with the name Chrissie Pooh, I would take her advice also.. since I only live vicariously through you and your friend Chrissie Pooh. I will take your advice, (taken from her) and try 1 load a day.
Like Danielle said no time like the present..
I will return and report.
woohoo! so glad you gave laundry another try! I don't have a laundry issue. ::ducks:: I love to do laundry. I love to wash, dry and fold but I HATE HATE and DESPISE to put the laundry away!
I've got it. Dance while you're doing laundry. It'll make it nicer!
I'm going to try it...
I usually do three loads a day, but our pipes to the washer froze and then burst, so I can't do any right now! I am NOT looking forward to playing catch-up!
I don't mind laundry. It's the bathrooms I hate cleaning.
One load a day makes a huge difference. No more laundry marathons or having to scale Mt. McLaundry twice a week.
I try.
I sometimes succeed and I often fail.
It's the trying that matters.
But thanks for the reminder to do a load tomorrow. :)
