4 Things That Would Make A Mom REALLY Happy

#1. 2 nights in a row WITHOUT children complaining about what you made for dinner. 2 nights in a row without having to yell, I mean threaten, I mean tell the kids several times to eat what is on their plates.

#2. Clothes that are ACTUALLY IN the laundry basket and not on the floor.

#3. Dishes that get put into the dishwasher and aren't left in the sink (which is RIGHT next to the dishwasher), on the table, or in the living room somewhere.

#4. Kisses from un-willing children. O has been VERY stingy with her kisses. When she gives one up I am very thankful. Oh wait--I think that I am in the same boat as O. Sorry Matt, I hereby resolve that I will kiss you everyday no matter what (I am such a bad wife).
*Number 1 really happened but as for the rest--that's a whole other story!!*

Can I trade kids with you this week? My youngest is always willing to give up the kisses. :)

No, no, no!! I left a word out of the title like the idiot that I am. They really did #1 but the rest--not so much!!

#3 for me is putting the dishes in, in a way so they could actually get clean!

I know how you feel. I would also be very happy if they slept through the night without bothering me for a drink, even though they know where the sink is!!

I was going to do a blog today on what makes everyone happy, but you already did it! Dangit.

Serving pizza every night is cheating on #1!

Hahahaha!!

Jo-
Honestly--no pizza. Monday we had Oven Ranch Chicke, Rice Pilaf and Corn. Tuesday we had Tacos (on whole wheat shells), spanish rice, and nachos. They have been troopers with the switch from white to whole wheat!!

I hear you on all fronts. Dinner is the worst around here. Some nights I just give up, why put so much effort into it just to have them turn up their noses.

What did you make for dinner?

Jillene said...

I made Oven Ranch Chicken, Rice Pilaf and Corn on Monday.

On Tuesday I made Tacos (with extra lean meat, whole wheat shells, low-fat sour cream, low-fat cheese, tomatoes and lettuce) and then I bought baked tortilla chips and melted a little cheese on them to make nachos.

I have gone all whole wheat just as of Friday when I grocery shopped last. My kids were FREAKING out and having a fit because they didn't want brown bread or tortillas--that is until they tasted them and loved them.

I SO understand. I love whole wheat, too, but no one else in my fam does. Dad, unfortunately is the influence on that count.

I love this! I am going to print it out and put it up on the frig.

Amen, sister! If you figure out the trick, be sure to fill us all in.

I would settle for just OWNING a dishwasher....LOL

Jillene said...

Kirsty-
NO DISHWASHER?! How do you survive?

I hear ya on the hubby kisses.. I don't kiss mine nearly enough.

And I don't have a dishwasher either!!

I am trying to switch to WW too. I'm going to try WW pizza tonight. My fam loves the bread, but everything else gets frowned upon...and they aren't even picky eaters!

want to share some recipes and dinner ideas? i need some.

i also wanted to reply to a comment you left on my blog about which foundation you should try. since you don't wear make-up usually, and if you just want to even things out, I have a couple suggestions...

1) "bare minerals" in med beige. super easy and light and doesn't look make-uppy. it's about $25-30.

2) "revlon skinlights" is a moisturizer/SPF 15/skin brightener that evens out skin tone and gives you a little glow (i use "bare light", but your skin tone is a little darker so go the next shade up or so). add a little pat of blotting (pressed) powder in translucent or "no color" (any brand) and you'll look like Jillene...just glowier:)

LONGEST COMMENT EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Something I would like to add that would make me very happy: NO FIGHTING AMONG THE CHILDREN. That would make my day.

Perfect list for us mommies!

Really is this too much to ask as a Mom? I think not and yet they act like you are asking for the moon and more.

I never really complained about what was for dinner when I was younger.
Now I do.
But I can't stand fish and when my mom makes it it makes me angry.
But that's it!

Jillene I always gave my parents, and still do, kisses, just so you know. And if I had a homecooked meal 2 days in A ROW, I would be SO happy! Tell your kids how lucky they are!!

What? It was all a dream? Jillene, I was going to ask you the secret to your blissful home-life, but now I will have to refrain!

I guess I probably should have figured everything out for myself after reading that you are going to kiss your husband everyday going forward. :)

Very cute list. Of course I'm guilty of laundry on the floor and constant dirty dishes soo... yeah.

*cough* college student *cough*

That is such a cute list! I'm not a mom yet, but I was mom-in-training when I had 3 other roommates or so it seemed. They never put dishes in the dishwasher or laundry either. I guess that was a pre-pre-mom-in-training for me huh? lol

Oh, your new layout is absolutely fabulous too! :)

Jillene,

This is so weird! I have commented on your blog several times and it doesn't show up. Bizarre! I just made a comment on here last night and now I can't remember what I wrote... craziness! Anyway, your little ones are adorable :) I love the things that you are thankful for... me too! Also, what is BSU??

Jillene said...

Strawberry-
That has happened to me several times this week on several different blogs--weird!! And BSU is Blog Stalkers Unite. It is a blog for people who love to stalk and make new friends. There is a pink button on my sidebar (it's kinda far down) that will take you to the site if you want to check it out!!
