Really?!

So our trusty, dusty washer and dryer are dying. I mean they still work and the washer is pretty much just fine but the dryer is taking 2 hours and 10 minutes to dry 1 load. Ugh--that's like forever!!

So we decided it was time to break down and buy a new set. We are getting front loaders which I am SO exited about. So we set out on an adventure Friday night to shop around. We went to RC Willey first. They are having a big anniversary sale so we decided what the heck. I really didn't want to go there because the salespeople DRIVE ME NUTS. If I want/need your help, I will ask thanks. Anyway--this older gentleman was hovering over us while we were trying to look at different models and prices. They had a few on sale for a good price but we wanted to look at a few other places. We told him thank you for all the help (when I reality I just wanted to shout bad words at him for hovering over us like a momma bear) and he handed my husband his card. He looked at it and was holding back his laughter as best as he could. He then showed the card to Z and he started to laugh. I, of course, said let me see. He turned it around and this is what I saw:

Really?! Are you kidding me?! I busted out laughing right there. Fred Flint Stone. Niiiice. We keep wondering if he had joke cards made up or if it's his real name. Either way it provided laughs all around. We ended up buying our new washer and dryer from Sears instead. Who wants to buy a new washer and dryer set from Fred Flint Stone? I probably would have had to have a dinosaur running on a wheel to run the thing!! (0:

That is hilarious!! What a great name.

I don't know why, but his name is having the opposite effect on me. I really want to be able to say I bought something from Fred Flint Stone.

Christa--I really was tempted to buy one from him but their prices were pretty outrageous. They only set they had that was decent priced was a Fridgidare and we were told that was THE WORST brand to get.

I am just dying to know if that was real or for jokes!

I have a Fridigaire dishwahser that I haven't been impressed with. Good move on not going with that brand.

I'm with Christa I would want to say that I bought a something from Fred Flint Stone. I wish I had a cool name like that.

I would buy it just so I could tell people that I bought it from Fred Flint Stone!

We got our new oven, dishwasher and disposal there last week. One of the salesman goes by "Captain" Kirk. (his real last name, I assume)

My vote is that it's his real name. But I love it. :)

Just SO said...

No way. I think that's just a bogus name he came up with. My niece would do that to put on her name tag when she worked retail so that creepy guys who would come in wouldn't be able to get her real name.

But it is a good laugh.

Excited for you that you are getting a new set! I love mine. In fact I must now go and change out loads.

Did he call to the store room… "Wilma!!!"????

At least he wasn't named George Jetson and worked with Jane. I can see him trying to demonstrate the dryer and exclaiming: "Jane… stop this crazy thing".

THAT is seriously a GREAT share. Thanks.

Been so long I will have to read up to see what you have been up too.

I do hope all is well with you!

You're so nice. I would asked him for dinosaur ribs.

That's hilarious! I wonder if his parents had a weird sense of humor.

This made me laugh!
He would have had me for a dryer purchase had his name been Fred LINT Stone. It would have been meant to be then...really.

If that was his real name, you just have to wonder what his parents were thinking!

That's funny! My ex-brother-in-law works for R.C. Willey so we bought stuff there more often than I would've liked. But now that he's the ex, we don't feel obligated and we buy things at Sears now, too. Have fun with the new toys!

Ohh... I love these name stories! There is a local plumber in our area named John C. Flood. Seriously.

My dryer is taking forever these days too. I realized I have never cleaned out the vent so that is on my to-do list next week (or hopefully sooner). If that doesnt work my friend told me my thermastat might be broken so we may end up having to get a new one too. Let me know if you find a place with good deals.

That is AWESOME!

My dad is a VP at RC Willey's and I will have to tell him about that.

BTW, I tell him ALL THE TIME about the annoying salespeople. Really, that is most people's only complaint about the place.
