Am I Lucky Or What?!
I started getting a sore throat on Sunday night. I thought nothing of it--that is until I woke up Monday morning and cried just trying to swallow my own saliva. Around 2:00 yesterday afternoon I got really chilled and couldn't seem to warm up. Then came the body aches. Matt came home from work and told me to go to Instacare. I felt stupid because I had just been there a few weeks ago. I went and guess what?! I tested positive for Strep Throat. The Dr. looked in my mouth and gasped. He told me that he would be giving me a shot of antibiotics rather than pills. The nurse came in with the biggest shot I have ever seen and told me to pull down my pants--niiiiiice. Now not only is my throat really sore, so is my butt. Lucky me.

I hope you feel better soon! Strep is going around in the schools here and I am pushing hand sanitizer like a drug dealer! Hopefully you are in the clear soon :)

I would so much rather have the shot. At least then it is over with and there is none of this take it twice a day for ten days crap! I hate taking pills, I always forget. The shot rocks! I used to get strep a lot, I finally got my tonsils out and it helped. I hope you start feeling better soon!

That's one of those blessings I was talking about when your husband is in the Bishopric. Just kidding. I hate Strep. I got it every other month for almost a year after I had Ryan. It's SO miserable! I hope that big ol' shot works quick! Do you want me to bring you an extra pillow to sit on while you blog?!

Jillene, I hope that shot works quickly and your feeling better soon. AND that you dont give it to your kids. The only thing worse than having strep throat is having kids with strep throat. Ugh.
The good news is that shot ought to knock it right out and have you feeling better by tomorrow!

The good news is that the shot will make you feel better! The bad news is that the lump left by the shot will be there a while.

It's been a few months since I last had strep. I guess that means I'm due to get it soon. Especially since I just typed that out loud. Great.
Do try the tea. I drink it all day long when I have it. It doesn't make it go away, but it does ease the pain a little. Hope you get better soon.
Hope you feel better soon. That kind of reminds me of when I had the choice of either the arm or the butt for a shot when I was little. I must have gone back and forth about three times. I think I got it in the arm in the end.

((HUGS)) Now I AM worried, I have been having the freezing chills, then hot as a broiling lobster thing, and my un-niece, but is my brothers niece has strep and we saw her the day before we flew home!! CRAP!!

I have felt your pain...OUCH!!! I haven't had my yearly case of Strep Throat...knock on wood.

Ew. I was right there with you a couple weeks ago. Did they have to stick that giant Q-tip down your throat. *shudders*. Feel better.
I know shots suck, but man, they hit strept soooo mcuh better than those sucky pills! I would take the shot any day over two weeks of pill swallowing!
