Horton Hears a Who and The Naughty 2 Year Olds

Today myself, my mom, Zachary, Hannah, Olivia, my brother Craig, his wife Mindy, Eden and Brooklyn went to see Horton Hears a Who. Things started out pretty good. We went to the Sugarhouse Theater and the tickets were only 50 cents per person. What a deal!! My brother bought a large popcorn and I bought 2 large drinks and my mom brought a purse full of candy. All was going well for about the first 45-50 minutes of the movie. Then the 2 year olds (Olivia and Brooklyn) were getting restless. The popcorn and candy was gone so we couldn't bribe them, and the movie was still going. Brooklyn grabbed my large fruit punch and spilled it all over me, her and her chair. We were both soaked in fruit punch! Then Olivia and Brooklyn decided to play musical chairs. Boy, that was fun! Mindy ended up taking Brooklyn out to change her and they never came back in. Olivia continued to play musical chairs--going from one chair to another. Finally the movie was over (which by the way was really cute)! We decided to go over to the Hogi-Yogi for some lunch. Hannah had a major breakdown because she left her McDonald Speed Racer Purse (from a breakfast Happy Meal my mom got her this morning) in the movie theater, Brooklyn wouldn't stay at the table, and Olivia kept tipping the chair over (and almost cracking her head open). My brother decided to go over to Nordstrom Rack (mind you--it is now nap-time and both 2 year olds are pretty much done) but I said no way. I tried to get Olivia into her car seat and she had a breakdown because she didn't want to be buckled up. Liv fell asleep about 2 minutes into driving (thank goodness). After all of this I wonder why I would subject myself to so much agony and torture. I told the kids we will never go anywhere again and that they will have to become hermits because that was too much trauma. But in the end I know that I will subject myself to more misery and pain because I really do love my kids. So give it about a few days and I will probably be back in the same boat I was in today all because I love my kids--go figure!!
