Quick Update

**WARNING - this post will be very blunt and forward**
Just really fast--the test is done and went as well as expected. Everything was great until she pulled out 3 catheters and told me one would go in the urethra, one in the vagina and the last one in the rectum--WHAT?! WHAT?! No one ever said anything about that!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! It REALLY sucked!! But no foreseen problems so the surgery is a go for March 26th.

ooo, not good at all:0(

You'd think they'd give advance notice of that fact but then no one show up probably.

Glad you survived.

Wow. I don't know what to say except I'm sorry.

Oh my! You think they would have filled you in at that. Soon it will be all over!!

Oh no!! Glad you are home. Probably not a day you are wishing to repeat any time soon.

I can't believe they didn't give you a heads up! Good luck with the surgery!

Glad it went good. A little update on that prior to your visit would have been good, but knowing it will all be over soon is so great!

Oh, and to clear that up, I mean good as in, as good as it can be getting three catheters shoved in place, because let's face it, that is NEVER good.

I think I may have missed a post....but I saw this and knew exactly what test you had. Urodynamics, right? I had that at the end of December. I need surgery too but am waiting until August when Hubby can take some time off.

Good luck!

Ok...this is why I am a firm believer in having my butt tattooed with an exit only sign! lol! I know a rectal catheter is probably just around the corner for me too...ugh! Dumb old falling bladders!

Congratulations on your new niece! She's a lucky little gal to have you as an Auntie!

WHAT?! Why would you possibly need a CATHETER anywhere other than the urethra?! Weird.....

Glad everything is looking okay, though :)

Torina said...

Ugh. I hate being cathed. Maybe this is a stupid question, or probably too private but I talk about my vagina and uterus all the time so whatevs. Will you have to have a catheter when you have your surgery? Like forever?

Christa said...

Hopefully, you handled the rectal one a little better than Peter from The Family Guy handled his first prostate exam.

Paige said...

ouch. that is truly a bad day

What the hay?! My legs won't unclench!! Ouch!

Torina-
Actually I have a 50% chance of coming home with one but it will eventually come out. They are putting my bladder in a sling so that it will be back up where it belongs. After I heal and recover--I will be as good as new (just minus a uterus and with a slung up bladder).

Christa-
I just laughed SO hard at your comment. And--thanks for letting Ryan come over and do my computer. I REALLY appreciate it!!

UH? WHAT?!! YuCK! I'm sorry for that not cool experience!

That does not sound like a fun test and three catheters is definitely something that the doctor should have mentioned before hand.

Jo said...

My poor Little Man had the same test, but he was very, very loopy from a lot of drugs, so he didn't much care. Just hoping this fixes stuff for you!

ahhh. thanks for letting us know. how awful for you to go through. But we pray that all will go well, and you will be up and running in no time. Hugs and love to you.

Congrats on your son's toothless smile. That smile is like no other!

hugs. ♥

I am so sorry for all of these difficulties! I will be praying for you.

(And no, that did NOT sound like fun at all!)

I hope you didn't have to pay extra for that :)

Seriously, I'm glad you made it through what sounds like a terrible process. Hopefully, things will be much better for you soon. And you've helped to bring a smile to my face (in a very weird way.) Whenever I start feeling sorry for myself, I think, "At least I don't have a tube up my who-ha, peeper, AND my bum." Now that's having a really bad day! You can only go up from there. (No pun intended.)

Have a great day Jillene!
