I'm A Winner (Sorta)

After we did Easter stuff yesterday morning I got online to check my e-mail. To my surprise there was an e-mail that said "CBC'10 Ticket Winner (sorta)". Intriguing. I opened it and it was from MomBabe--one of the organizers of the event. This was what she said: "Jillene, You're coming to the Casual Blogger Conference! Another ticket winner will not be able to make it, and we told her to look through the comments on the giveaway posts and tell us who she thinks deserves to go, and she said YOU. Therefore YOU are coming. I just need your full name and blog address, and we will send out your e-ticket. Thanks! Caroline"

WHAT?! SERIOUSLY?! DID I JUST READ THAT RIGHT?! I AM GOING TO CBC?! HOLY CRAP!! WHOO HOO!! I promptly responded as did she and I have my ticket!! I don't know who the previous winner was but who ever you are (hopefully you read my blog) THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Happy Easter to me!! WHOOT!! Oh--and I hope that you all had a Happy Easter too!! (0:

Modge Podge

A year ago today I was laying in a recovery room trying to come out of anesthesia. I can't believe it's been a year. I am grateful that my bladder is fixed though.

I am sick again. I have an Upper Respiratory Infection. It's not fun--at all. H has also been really sick with Walking Pneumonia. It's been a rough 9 days at my house.

O made a bunny mask yesterday at preschool. When her dad came home she put it on and showed it to him. The she told him, "See those white things on it's face? Those are it's miskers."

Last Thursday O had to dress up for preschool as a nursery rhyme character and recite the nursery rhyme for the class. She picked Little Miss Muffet and here is how she recited the rhyme, "Little Miss Muffet sat on her puffet eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider and sat down beside her and frightened Miss Muffet away." Puffet--hahahahahaha!!

Z and H had Parent Teacher Conferences yesterday. H has all A's and Z has 3 A's and 3 B's. I am so proud of them!!

I guess that's all. Time to go lay down and try to sneak in a little nap (yeah right).

Really?!

So our trusty, dusty washer and dryer are dying. I mean they still work and the washer is pretty much just fine but the dryer is taking 2 hours and 10 minutes to dry 1 load. Ugh--that's like forever!!

So we decided it was time to break down and buy a new set. We are getting front loaders which I am SO exited about. So we set out on an adventure Friday night to shop around. We went to RC Willey first. They are having a big anniversary sale so we decided what the heck. I really didn't want to go there because the salespeople DRIVE ME NUTS. If I want/need your help, I will ask thanks. Anyway--this older gentleman was hovering over us while we were trying to look at different models and prices. They had a few on sale for a good price but we wanted to look at a few other places. We told him thank you for all the help (when I reality I just wanted to shout bad words at him for hovering over us like a momma bear) and he handed my husband his card. He looked at it and was holding back his laughter as best as he could. He then showed the card to Z and he started to laugh. I, of course, said let me see. He turned it around and this is what I saw:

Really?! Are you kidding me?! I busted out laughing right there. Fred Flint Stone. Niiiice. We keep wondering if he had joke cards made up or if it's his real name. Either way it provided laughs all around. We ended up buying our new washer and dryer from Sears instead. Who wants to buy a new washer and dryer set from Fred Flint Stone? I probably would have had to have a dinosaur running on a wheel to run the thing!! (0:

Saturday Is A Special Day........

Saturday turned out to be such a great day for me. A day that I have needed for a while. A day where I was refreshed and reminded how much my Father in Heaven loves me. It started out with our Stake Women's Conference. I was really temped not to go but since I am in the Relief Society Presidency in my ward I felt like I should go. We had some keynote speakers and then some fun workshops. I learned how to cook healthier, how to decorate a cupcake really cute and some fun and in-expensive activities to do with my family. It really was a nice 4 hours (minus the poor lady that had a small stroke during the keynote speakers. Good thing we had medically trained women there.)

Next came the opportunity to go to the Temple and do a Sealing Session. We have never done that before. We went with my husbands oldest sister Kim, her husband Kevin, Kevin's cousin and his wife and my father-in-law. We did Matt's mothers family. They are all of Dutch descent. Our sealer was Brother Vai Kinikini. I have know him since I was 19 years old. I hadn't seen him in about 15 years and when he walked in the room it was so amazing. After the session we embraced and both shed tears. He hugged me several more times. He told everyone that I was family. It was a beautiful reunion. My heart was and is still so full. He has a beautiful testimony and he shared some beautiful things with us. The peace and comfort that I felt was overwhelming. I KNOW that I am loved. I KNOW that He has a plan for me. I KNOW that families can be together forever. I KNOW that no matter what we are going through--He is always there.
